I was 12 when Thriller dropped. It was magic. MTV played a heavy rotation of his videos. He was the King of Pop but the allegations which began in the 90’s slowly tarnished his reputation. Court cases and sensational interviews about the allegations of child sexual abuse were the talk of the decade.

I was torn about what to believe. My musical God couldn’t be a sexual predator;not the man who moon walked into my heart. However it was just too much, so I just sat on my conflicted feelings.

I won’t judge these young men. It’s there story and they have a right to it. Furthermore the Jacksons have a right to theirs . Two parties are suffering here.

Finally I don’t see the advantage to dragging a dead man’s name through the proverbial mud. We will never know the full truth. The alleged perpetrator is deceased and can not defend himself. It’s a profitless endeavour in my opinion. I hope all involved find some peace.

Great piece as always Ezinne Ukoha
