I am the father of a 12-year-old African-American son. He is an innocent little boy who likes video games and playing with his friends. He is no different from any other boy his age except for his race and gender, which shouldn't matter. My wife and I are his protector from the world's harshness, but unfortunately, that isn't always enough. I remember after the police murdered George Floyd, he said that he didn't want to be black because the police would kill him. I explained to him that all police are not bad, but there are bad apples in the organization and that being black is something to be proud of.

A few days ago, I read something disturbing about an incident in Indianola, Mississippi. The town is famous because it's part of the Mississippi Blues Trail, and Bluesman Albert King is from the little town. However, the story I read wasn't about the town's rich history. But the shooting of an 11-year-old African American boy by an African American police officer. The story and the body cam footage are below. My dear reader, I must warn you the video is disturbing.
